Interesting fact

I was once featured on a South African breakfast show whilst they were filming in the UK. To this day it can be viewed on YouTube, much to my horror!


Sophie attended Bournemouth and Poole College where she gained her BTEC National Diploma in Hospitality and Catering Management Supervision. During her studies, she was given the opportunity to work in France within a Michelin Star kitchen.

Upon completion of her course, Sophie then began her career as a Pastry Chef working at Summer Lodge Hotel and progressed on within The Red Carnation Hotel group. Seeking to expand on her knowledge of chocolate work, Sophie joined a multi award-winning chocolate company where she added to their success by gaining various awards for her creations.

After a fantastic career working within professional kitchens, Sophie was given the opportunity to travel the world by becoming a Hospitality Hostess for the Formula One Team Manor until, finally coming back home and joining Platinum’s Elite Chef Division in 2017.


I have always been very family orientated and try to spend as much time as possible with both family and friends. I love food and eating out to experience new, exciting places. Being lucky enough to have grown up in this beautiful part of the country I try to make the most of it by going to the beach or on long walks as often as possible. I have a real weakness for shopping, particularly when it comes to shoes!

I still enjoy cooking and travelling but both are now purely for pleasure.

Why Platinum

Platinum for me is idyllic. It allows me to stay connected to an industry that I’m so passionate about, whilst helping others to find their perfect fit within that industry.

Everyone is extremely driven, dedicated to their work and admittedly, very competitive (including myself). So, in a lot of ways it still feels like I haven’t really left the kitchens!

Platinum offers me new challenges everyday but at the same time the support to succeed in them. I feel that I am very privileged to be a part of the team at Platinum.
