Meet Zsofia Karnok, Talent Acquisition specialist within Platinum Recruitment’s Front Office team. With first-hand hospitality experience spanning kitchen, front office and duty management roles, Zsofia brings a strong understanding of hotel operations to recruitment and knows what makes a great hospitality career tick.
Zsofia qualified as an accountant in Slovakia, moved to the UK with just one suitcase, and then promptly never looked at accounting again.
A fairly dramatic career pivot, but one she has never regretted.
Zsofia started working in hospitality at 18, beginning as a Kitchen Porter.
From there, she worked her way up through the industry and progressed to Front Office Manager and Duty Manager roles within a seaside hotel group in Bournemouth.
That experience gave her a broad understanding of hotel operations and front office life before she moved into recruitment. Today, Zsofia works in Talent Acquisition within Platinum Recruitment’s Front Office team, using her industry experience to support candidates across hospitality.
Outside work, Zsofia likes to keep life busy, preferably with holidays front and centre.
She loves exploring new countries, discovering different cultures and trying new food, and is a keen cook herself. She also keeps active with Pilates several times a week, alongside gym sessions and running when the weather cooperates.
