Interesting fact

Gavin’s last name comes from George Loveless, one of the Tolpuddle Martyrs, a group of six labourers who were arrested over a wage dispute. The group was accused of swearing a secret oath as members of the Friendly Society of Agricultural Labourers and deported to Australia in 1834.

Career

In his early career, Gavin worked for 12 years as a chef in small boutique hotels, pubs and restaurants. This hands-on experience from inside the kitchen made Gavin’s move into chef recruitment a natural choice.

In his 12+ years at Platinum, Gavin has forged an amazing career. Establishing a successful Pubs and Bars Division in 2014, Gavin was promoted to Associate Director in 2021. Today, he oversees not only the Chefs and Pubs and Bars teams but our Employment branch supporting the Commercial, Industrial, Education and Healthcare teams.

Social

As a forty-something-year-old man, and growing grey more each day, Gavin is learning to embrace his aching limbs. Luckily, his amazing wife and two beautiful girls (who wrap him around their fingers) keep him on his toes. The addition of the family’s 3-year-old Sproodle, Cooper, means Gavin spends his free time exploring the local area, always followed by a well-earned pint in the pub. When he’s not busy being wrapped around fingers and dog leads, Gavin can be found planting and digging in his garden, his happy place.
