Sous Chef – Woking | Excellent pay, free meals & Enjoy Great Work/Life Balance
We’re looking for a skilled Sous Chef to lead shifts in a busy MOD Woking kitchen near Pirbright. You’ll manage staff, oversee daily operations, and deliver high-quality dishes, all while benefiting from a structured and supportive environment. There’s no responsibility for menus, rosters, or ordering – you’ll focus on running the shifts and leading the team.

- 37.5 hours per week across a mixture of early (05:00-13:30) and late (11:30-19:30) shifts, including weekends

Key Responsibilities
As the Sous Chef in this client kitchen, you’ll:
- Lead and manage kitchen staff across shifts
- Supervise and coordinate day-to-day kitchen operations
- Assist in food preparation, cooking, and plating
- Maintain quality control and consistency of all dishes
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
- Train and mentor members of the kitchen team
What we’re looking for
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen, ideally in a supervisory role
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team
- Excellent knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and plating standards
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure during busy service periods
