Charity of the Month: Cancer Research UK
At Platinum Recruitment we are passionate about our company values and believe strongly in giving back to those less fortunate. So, each month our excellent staff donate their own money. This is also matched by the company. We ask each person from the team to choose a charity special to them that they’d like to donate to.
This month, our lucky winner was Kelly Bailey from the Chef Division and £250 has been donated to Cancer Research UK in her name.
Founded in 2002, Cancer Research UK is pioneering research and awareness charity. Their revolutionary work has aided in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer and helped to save millions of lives.
The charity invests an average of $500 million per year, making them the world’s largest independent funder of cancer research. They support word-class cancer research and work alongside international partners to reduce the growth in cancer cases across the globe.
Their popular events, such as the Race For Life, have significantly raised awareness of the different types of cancer, empowering the UK public to acknowledge symptoms and get an early diagnosis.
