A leading recruitment partner is working with a beautiful country house hotel in Devon, currently undergoing significant investment, who are looking for a talented and experienced Relief Sous Chef to join their kitchen team.

What’s involved?

As Relief Sous Chef, you will support the senior kitchen team in maintaining high standards across all sections. You will play a key role in:

• Running sections confidently during service
• Supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chef team
• Leading and supporting junior chefs
• Delivering consistency across lunch, afternoon tea and dinner
• Maintaining high standards during busy, high-volume services
• Ensuring excellent food quality, presentation and kitchen standards

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience at Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef level
• Experience within a strong 2 AA Rosette (or equivalent) kitchen
• A background in high-volume, quality-driven environments
• Confidence across multiple service styles, including afternoon tea
• A passion for seasonal, ingredient-led cooking
• Strong organisation and communication skills
• The ability to quickly integrate into an established brigade
