Are you technically minded, practical and someone who takes pride in keeping things running smoothly? This is an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Assistant to join a luxury country hotel in Bridport, helping to maintain the buildings, equipment, grounds and facilities to an exceptionally high standard.

This is a hands-on role where no two days are necessarily the same. You’ll work as part of the Facilities team, responding to maintenance requirements and helping ensure the hotel remains fully operational for guests and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

As Maintenance Assistant, you’ll help keep the whole site operational, safe and presented to a high standard.

• Carry out internal and external repairs, decoration, maintenance and servicing duties as required.
• Replace consumables such as bulbs and batteries, while maintaining accurate records of maintenance and Health & Safety requirements.
• Support the upkeep of roads, tracks, paths, buildings and wider site facilities.
• Use and maintain equipment, machinery and tools responsibly, ensuring they are stored and kept in good condition.
• Liaise with approved contractors and support the coordination of third-party maintenance and projects.

What we’re looking for

You’ll ideally have experience within a building, maintenance or similar trade, alongside a practical and proactive approach.

• Technically minded with previous experience in a building, maintenance or similar trade.
• Physically fit and energetic, with a reliable and proactive approach.
• Organised, calm under pressure and attentive to detail.
• Good communication skills and a positive approach to working as part of a team.
• Flexible and able to work evenings, weekends and during busy operational periods.

Due to the rural location, your own transport is essential. The role is based in Bridport and includes evening and weekend working.
