Following a period of substantial growth in golf operations, the Club is now seeking a commercially minded, hands-on leader to professionalise and elevate the administration, hospitality, and business functions of the estate. Working alongside the Director of Golf, you will be a key figure in safeguarding the long-term success and cultural heritage of this prestigious venue.

What’s involved?
As the Director of Operations, you will have total oversight of the “non-golf” business, acting as a peer to the Director of Golf and reporting directly to the Board of Directors.
- Business Leadership: Accountable for the day-to-day administration and hospitality functions. You will be the primary driver of the Club’s financial objectives and forward management plans.
- Hospitality & F&B Growth: Deliver a 25% annual growth target in F&B. You will develop a vibrant social calendar and maximise the use of the Club’s event spaces for members and private conferencing.
- Financial Management: Work with the Finance Director to manage the £1.5m turnover. You will oversee P&L, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and ensure all “value for money” cost reductions are identified.
- Staff Management: Lead, mentor, and restructure the hospitality and admin teams. You will be responsible for HR compliance, payroll, and creating a high-performance service culture.
- Compliance & Governance: Act as the lead for Health & Safety, insurance, and legal frameworks (Companies Acts), managing relationships with auditors, bankers, and legal advisors.

This is a hands-on leadership role. We are looking for a candidate who can balance high-level commercial strategy with the ability to be present on the floor, engaging with members and driving standards.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a General Manager or Operations Director within a luxury hotel, country club, or high-end hospitality environment.
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of driving F&B revenue.
- Experience in organisational restructuring and team development.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships (Boards and Committees).
- Non-golf” background is welcomed; business and hospitality expertise are the primary focus.
