Catering Assistant – Durham
£13.68 per hour | Flexible shifts | Weekly pay
We’re recruiting a Catering Assistant for a flexible opportunity in Aycliffe near Durham, ideal if you’re looking for work that fits around your lifestyle. This role offers variety, great support, and the chance to work across different sites while building experience in professional Catering environments. Food Hygiene Level 2, Food Allergens Certificate and Enhanced DBS are required.

Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you’ll support the smooth running of daily operations by:
- Assisting with food preparation, including sandwiches and basic meal prep
- Supporting front of house service, serving food and drinks and assisting customers
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across kitchen and dining areas
- Washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Receiving and storing deliveries and helping manage stock
- Providing friendly, professional customer service at all times
What we’re looking for:
To succeed as a Catering Assistant, you’ll ideally have:
- A strong team-focused attitude with good communication skills
- High standards of hygiene and cleanliness
- The physical stamina to work on your feet and handle manual tasks
- The ability to stay calm under pressure
- Excellent attention to detail, particularly around food safety and allergens
- A customer-focused approach
You’ll also need:
- Food Hygiene Level 2
- Enhanced DBS
- Allergens certificate
