Sous Chef opportunity offering £34,000 per annum, 40 hours per week and free golf, working within a growing hospitality and events-focused venue near Reading.

Key Responsibilities

Working closely with the Head Chef, you will help deliver consistently high standards across the kitchen.

• Support menu development and introduce fresh ideas and flavours
• Prepare, cook and plate dishes efficiently to a high standard
• Lead the kitchen team in the Head Chef’s absence
• Maintain strong food safety, hygiene and storage standards
• Monitor stock, portion control and food costs to minimise waste
• Keep the kitchen clean, organised and running efficiently
• Stay up to date with current culinary trends and techniques

What we’re looking for

The ideal candidate will be a motivated Chef with strong kitchen experience and the confidence to support a team.

• Previous experience at Sous Chef level or as a strong Senior Chef de Partie
• Good knowledge of food preparation, cooking and kitchen standards
• Ability to lead a kitchen team when required
• Creative approach to menus and seasonal produce
• Strong understanding of food safety and cost control
• A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential due to the rural location between Reading and Basingstoke
