Platinum Recruitment is proud to support a number of schools across Essex, and we’re excited to offer opportunities for experienced Chefs of all levels to join their teams on a temporary, ad-hoc basis.
Please note: This is agency work only – shifts will be offered across multiple school sites depending on demand. A valid enhanced DBS certificate is required for this role.
Temporary, flexible agency shifts – work when and where you’re available
Monday to Friday hours – school day shifts only (typically 8am – 2pm)
Term-time only – enjoy school holidays off
Weekly pay – every Friday
Variety – gain experience working across different school kitchens in Essex
Hourly Pay: £16 – £20 per hour

You’ll be covering shifts across different school sites, preparing and serving fresh, nutritious meals for pupils and staff while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and kitchen hygiene.
This role is ideal for confident, adaptable chefs who enjoy working in new environments and delivering great food with a positive attitude.
Previous experience as a Chef (school or contract catering experience is desirable)
Strong understanding of Food Safety and Health & Safety procedures
Ability to manage busy service periods efficiently
A proactive, flexible, and reliable approach to work
Must have the right to work in the UK
Must hold a valid enhanced DBS certificate
