Fantastic temporary opportunity for a School Hours Kitchen Assistant in Sleaford

• £13.68phr including holiday pay
• Paid every Friday
• A valid enhanced DBS certificate required on the child barred service
• Monday – Friday working 10.00am – 14:00pm

Our client is seeking a friendly and hardworking Temporary Kitchen Assistant to join a wonderful school in Sleaford. This is a great chance to become an integral part of the catering team and make a real difference to the students and staff.

What you’ll be doing:

• Assisting with basic food preparation, such as washing and chopping vegetables, and preparing simple dishes under supervision.
• Ensuring the kitchen and all equipment are kept clean and tidy, adhering to strict hygiene standards.
• Washing dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils efficiently.
• Assisting with the setting up and clearing away of food service areas.
• Helping to manage stock and supplies, and informing senior staff when items are low.
• Following all health and safety regulations.
• Generally supporting the smooth running of the school kitchen.

What you’ll bring:

• A positive and proactive attitude with a willingness to learn.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Excellent hygiene standards and a keen eye for cleanliness.
• Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
• Crucially, you must hold a valid Enhanced DBS certificate on the child barred service
• Previous experience in a kitchen environment is beneficial but not essential.
• Food Hygiene certificate level 1
