Head Chef Opportunity – Chigwell Care Home – up to £43,000 DOE

What you’ll be doing:

• Leading and mentoring a talented team of 4-5 kitchen staff.
• Planning and managing rotas to ensure efficient coverage.
• Creating exciting and varied menus that cater to diverse dietary needs and preferences.
• Ensuring all food preparation and kitchen operations adhere to the highest hygiene and safety standards.
• Playing a key role in the overall dining experience for residents.

What we’re looking for:

• Proven experience as a Head Chef, ideally within a care home or similar setting.
• Essential IDDSI (International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative) training or demonstrable knowledge is crucial for this role.
• A valid Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate or higher.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent understanding of dietary requirements and nutritional needs.
• A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine desire to make a positive impact on residents’ lives.
• The ability to work 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, including 1-2 weekends per month, with guaranteed weekdays off.
